The St. Timothy's swim team continued to build upon the stellar performance of 2022 in the Calgary Senior High School Athletics Association Swimming City Championships.

Held at the MNP Community and Sport Centre in Calgary on Dec. 5, seven Thunder athletes contested the championships in the blue and green division. Brady Malley, Maeve Maguire, Heather Anderson, Isaac Thibodeau, Soleil Pugliese, Sydney Carnegie, and Aaron Swedlo represented St. Tim's in multiple events.

Blue swimmers are athletes who are new to the sport or compete in junior lifeguarding, and green swimmers are athletes who swim in a summer club.

The Thunder were led by Isaac Thibodeau, who won two city championships in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke. He also won silver in 50m butterfly in the green division.

Also winning a city championship in the Green division was Aaron Swedlo in 50m breaststroke, plus a silver in 50m free and bronze in 50m fly.

Soleil Pugliese continued the school's tradition of champion female breaststrokers, with a win in 50m breast, following up the two championships won by Bria Michalski in 2018 and 2019. Soleil also placed fifth in 50m free and sixth in 50m fly.

To round out the Green results, Sydney Carnegie won bronze in 50m back, placed seventh in 50m free, and fifth in 50m fly, making huge improvements in all her times from last year.

In Blue, Brady Malley repeated his city championship from last year, winning the 50m freestyle event. He also won silver in 25m fly, and bronze in 25m backstroke.

The team placed seventh overall in the Elbow Division out of 21 schools represented.
