As of 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail, and torrential rain.

The alerts are for Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds, and Sundre.

These thunderstorms are located between Banff and Cochrane and are nearly stationary. Expect large accumulations of rain and hail.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures.
