A group of strong thunderstorms that could produce hail up to the size of a nickel and torrential rain are being monitored by Environment Canada meteorologists.

This group of thunderstorms extends from just Northwest of Cochrane to Pekisko and is moving slowly to the northeast.

Floods and large puddles of water on highways might occur as a result of heavy rain. It's possible for large hail to harm people and damage property.

Cochranites are advised to seek shelter as thunder and lightning rolls just outside of town.
