What a way to start the month of June!

Starting tomorrow, a heatwave is forecast for the province and that's expected to last until Friday. 

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Cochrane and the surrounding areas:

  • Rocky View Co. near Cochrane
  • Mountain View Co. near Carstairs and Stirlingville
  • Mountain View Co. near Cremona and Water Valley
  • Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
  • Mountain View Co. near Sundre
  • Rocky View Co. near Airdrie and Crossfield
  • Rocky View Co. near Bottrel and Madden

These areas can expect daytime highs ranging between 28 to 35 degrees Celsius and overnight lows ranging between 13 to 18 degrees Celsius. 

Cochrane is expected to hit the 30-degree mark for the next two days! Residents are reminded to stay well hydrated, take plenty of breaks when working outside and find shade whenever possible.

Heat warnings will likely be issued later today.
