The Community Wide Celebration hosted at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre is only two days away.

This Saturday and Sunday (September 9 and 10), people are invited to SLSFSC to celebrate Cochrane's largest infrastructure project to date by offering free admission, demos, activities, games, special performances, and a dunk tank where you can sink one of Cochrane's community minded volunteers for a good cause. For five or seven dollars you will have the opportunity to dunk media personnel, the Mayor, council members, RCMP, firefighters, business owners and sports enthusiasts.

Kees Fralick is taking one for his team; Fralick is one of four owners of the new comic book store 'Rebel Comics'.

"We want to be as community oriented as possible," says Fralick. "So if somebody reaches out to us, asking us to be part of it, the answer is going to yes. There's four of us, someone will do it."

While the three other partners all volunteered, Fralick says he eventually wore the others down. "Finally I begged, 'Can I please do it?' I've always wanted to go in a dunk tank. I can't wait."

Fralick is one of many community-minded dunkees who will be dressed up and ready to sit on the plank for roughly an eight-minute stint despite the possibility of being dunked more than once with all monies going to Rock the Waves.

Besides the dunk tank, you will have a free opportunity to go swimming, hit the splash park, throw a curling rock, enjoy a variety of demos, take in music and dance performances or try to win some Cochrane Dollars.

The two-day event is all about Cochrane and community.

Below is a list of dunkees, so grab a few bucks and get ready to watch them swim. A timetable is also listed to show other offerings going on.
