Cobras quarterback Christian Golem, receiver Ethan Clazie, and O-lineman Nathan Jasmin-Cara have been named to the south team for the Senior Bowl All-Atar Game in a classic North vs South battle for supremacy.

Yesterday, the 40-player roster was named for the south team, representing teams south of Red Deer to the US border, following a selection camp last weekend.

The 33rd annual Senior Bowl High School All-Star Game for graduating Grade 12’s is being held on May 21 at MEGlobal Athletic Park in Lacombe. It's preceded by a two-day camp for the teams.

"It's a good way to end it, just a fun way to top it off," says Cobras QB Golem.

Golem is considering playing for the Calgary Colts next season.

"It's just good to high school football one last time before moving on," says receiver Clazie, who recently signed with the USask Huskies. "I think it's a good way to show what I can do."

Jasmin-Cara wasn't available for comment at the time of this writing.

"We couldn't be more proud," says Cobras offense coordinator Derek Cooper. "We talk about it all the time, It's the students, the athletes that make the program what it is, we just get to be along for the ride. So, to have these athletes represent our school, with the 'C' on the side of their helmets as they compete in the Senior Bow, is really, really cool."

Over the years, it's now become commonplace for Cochrane High to have three or four players selected each year for the Senior Bowl. There have also been some players from the Bow Valley Bobcats selected over the years.

The north team is holding its selection camp this weekend.
