Summer 2023 is the time for Cochrane residents to reconnect with their neighbours.

The Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is bringing back its Block Party trailer program after a two-year hiatus.

Brianne Sachdev, Community Development Worker-Neighbourhoods, with the town of Cochrane said it's a great way for residents to socialize with people in their community.

"People love it, it's a great free resource to be able to host a party in your neighbourhood, and I think after the last couple of years people are excited to get out and network with their friends in their community."

"The trailer comes with everything you need to host a party including invitations, signage, traffic cones, a griddle for cooking and instructions on how to put together a great community party." said Sachdev.

She said sometimes keeping it simple makes for the best party. "It doesn't have to be complicated, it can be simple from hot dogs to music and street games. I think keeping it as simple as possible is the best way to have great, successful party. The main point is just getting your neighbours together and feeling connected within your community."

FCSS is hosting a Block Party Kick Off event on June 17 from 1-4 p.m. at the Cochrane Ranche. 91.5 CochraneNow will be live on location for the event.

Sachdev said dates are booking up fast. Party dates are available anytime through May 19 to Sep 3, 2023.

Once you book the Block Party trailer, you must pick it up and tow it to your party location.
