Update: 

The Cochrane RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the tragic accident that has left two teenage girls dead and two others in hospital. Police are working to positively identify all occupants of the vehicle and Cochrane Victim services have been contacted to support the families. 

Cochrane RCMP Corporal Troy Savinkoff says that the events leading up to the accident are still under investigation.

“It is too early to tell what factors may have contributed to this collision,” says Savinkoff.

He goes on to say “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, schools and communities that are affected.”

Cochrane Mounties are investigating a fatal collision that took place after midnight on July 15.

At approximately 12:32 a.m. the Cochrane RCMP was dispatched to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Range Road 32, between Township Road 251A and 250.  

The area is just east of the Springbank Airport, north of Highway 1.

RCMP Members arrived on the scene and located two of the occupants deceased. 

Two additional occupants were transported to the Foothills Hospital with undetermined injuries. 

EMS officials say all of the people in the vehicle were females in their late teens. 

Mounties are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, to contact the Cochrane RCMP.
