Two people have been killed and another has serious injuries from a major collision on Hwy. 1 west of Morley Road. 

The collision involves a semi and a five-tonne truck, and Cpl. Susan Richter says it's a horrific scene.

She has no further details at the time but expects RCMP and emergency crews will remain at the scene for several hours.

Westbound traffic on Hwy. 1 is being rerouted through Morley Road to Hwy. 1A.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
