Want to appear in a Disney film as a background character?

Here's your chance.

Disney has announced an open casting call will be held at Cochrane at the former Canadian Tire location, 320 5th Ave. W., on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Togo," working under the code name of "Tenfold," is being developed for its streaming service set to be launched later this year.

According to ACTRA, the film will be shot in and around Calgary from Sept. 24 to Dec.13 and Jan. 9 to Feb. 14, 2019.

For the production, Disney has taken up quarters in the old Canadian Tire building that has sat vacant since the store relocated to a larger building in The Quarry.

The producers are looking for men, women and children to play background characters of Caucasian, First Nations, African-American and Asian descent.

The Caucasian, Asian and African-American men should have beards or some sort of facial hair and no modern haircuts. The Caucasian, First Nations, African-American and Asian female extras should have no modern haircuts or highlights in their hair. First Nations male extras should also have no modern haircuts. Producers are also looking for Caucasian children between three and 12 years old with slim builds.

The film tells the story of a sled dog, Togo, who led the 1925 serum run, but was considered by most to be too small and week to lead such an intense race. It's placed in Alaska.

Director Ericson Core, best known for "Invincible" and the most recent remake of "Point Break", will direct. The screenplay is by Tom Flynn, whose recent work includes the 2017 film "Gifted."

It was announced earlier this summer that Willem Dafoe, a three-time Oscar nominee for best supporting actor, will play the character "Seppala."
