St. Patrick's Day 2019 will be one for the memory books for members of the GU15 Cochrane Chaos when they came home with a Pot of Gold Medals.

The U15 Cochrane Chaos are provincial champions after besting the CalGlen Thunder, 3-2, in a comeback victory in the GU15 Provincial Tier 4 indoor championship of the Alberta Soccer Assoc., Mar. 15-17.

Finishing at the top of their pool in the tournament, the Chaos downed NWC Magnan 1-0 in semifinal action before facing the CalGlen, who were undefeated in league and tournament play this season.

The Chaos, who had lost two previous encounters with the Thunder, fell behind 0-2 but rebounded to tie the score 2-2 by the half. The momentum shift continued through the second half and with just over a minute left to play Maxine Hayes sent a blistering gold-medal winning goal into the net for the win after a left-wing feed from Juliet Alexander.

"What a fantastic weekend," wrote Coach Devin Wagner in a message to the team. "I was extremely impressed with the way the girls came together and played as a team this weekend.  The final game today was one of the best games the girls played all season. What a great time to play our best."

The Chaos opened the provincials with a 4-1 over the Sherwood Park Phoenix that featured a hattrick by Hannah Tas, who went on to score two other goals in the provincials. A 2-1 win over Cold Lake put them at the top of their pool and set the stage for their playoff run.
