Add Patrick Price and Patrick Wilson to the unofficial list of candidates for the Oct. 16 municipal election and drop Kevin Firkus.

Price and Wilson both filed papers today during the two-hour nomination window and now it's a 24-hour wait until the list becomes official.

They join other candidates Miles Chester, Vivian Cox, Dan Cunin, Bella Fallis, Marni Fedeyko, Susan Flowers, Scott Gibson-Craig, Kent Liang, incumbent Tara McFadden, incumbent Morgan Nagel, Jason Phillips, Alex Reed and incumbent Ross Watson on the list, making it 15 people in all vying for the six council seats available.

Firkus had picked up nomination papers but has since decided not to run.

Choosing not to run again are Mary Lou Eckmeier, Gaynor Levisky and Jeff Toews.

For mayor, incumbent Ivan Brooker, Jeff Genung and Thomas Hardy are in the running.

Rocky View County

While this candidates list is also unofficial until tomorrow at 12 noon, it appears all four divisions of Rocky View County (RVC) council in the Cochrane area are all being contested.

In division 9, north and west of Cochrane, it's incumbent Bruce Kendall facing challenges from Crystal Kissel and Colleen Munro.

In division 1, representing the Bragg Creek and Jumping Pound area, Mark Kamachi and Enrique Massot are running.

For the Springbank area, division 2, it's incumbent Jerry Arshinoff against Kim McKylor.

Division 8, the Bearspaw area, will see Eric Lowther once again face Samanntha Wright. The two previously ran in a closely-contested byelection after the death of RVC councillor Al Sacuto.

The RVC has a number of councillors exiting. Liz Breakey, Margaret Bahcheli, Earl Solberg, Rolly Ashdown and Lois Habberfield are not seeking re-election.

Rocky View School Division
