It's still early in the planning stages, but the Alberta Education minister's press secretary has provided a few more details of what to expect from the expansion of the Bow Valley High School.

"The Bow Valley High School addition consists of a gym, learning commons, career and technology studies space, auxiliary space, and additional classrooms," states Katherine Stavropoulos, press secretary to Education minister Adriana LeGrange, in a written statement.

She says it will bring the school's capacity to more than 1,200 students.

The construction start date will be determined once a project has completed the planning, design, and tender stages. No cost estimates are being provided to ensure the integrity of the tendering process.

Early today, LaGrange announced the long-awaited expansion of the high school is one of the province's 15 school project priorities.
