Lindsay Regier, Event Organizer of the Cochrane Terry Fox Run may have been initially worried on Sunday morning (September 16) as she looked outside but her fears soon subsided.

Worried there would be very few runners willing to brave the elements and lace up, Regier is pleased to say the run was a huge a success. "Cochrane really turned out. Cars started coming in, people started to come and register and I would say we ended up with a turn out comparable to previous years which was amazing."

Not only did runners come out in support of Terry's legacy but also stuck around, giving the event the community feel which Regier loves. "People were still chatting with friends and family that they saw there; I think we all just felt like we were in it together, there was a bit of comradery of being out there. We had a nice warm meal when people came back and people still stayed and visited."

While the official tally has not been tabulated quite yet, Regier says the Cochrane chapter raised over $13,000 thus far and some donations are still rolling in. "We did better than when we had nice weather one year, so I was pretty stoked about that."

Sharing on Instagram the morning of the run, Regier made a great point. "A lot of Terry's days weren't perfect either, and this one isn't perfect but we're still going to do our best."

Although this was, Regier's first out of the four years organizing the event that Mother Nature did not cooperate she is looking forward to coming back next year and doing it all over again. "I just really want to thank the community for their support including Original Joes and Tribe Team Training that came out. I'll be back out next year and looking forward to another great run."
