A call regarding a missing 65-year-old Cochrane woman has a good news ending.

Cochrane RCMP, Constable Kary Moore, says they flew into fast-action after receiving a call at around 6:30 this morning (May 27). "The woman's family had contacted police after they noticed her missing in the morning and they had determined that she had departed her residence at some point overnight in only her housecoat and slippers."

Thanks to the assistance of CPS Hawks, the Cochrane Fire Department and the RCMP Police Dog Services, Constable Moore reports the woman was located at around 8:30 this morning. "The woman was located alive on the shore of the Bow River by the Cochrane RCMP boat operators."

The woman was transported to a Calgary area hospital with undetermined injuries and the case is not criminal in nature, states Cst. Moore.

No other information will be released, and Cochrane and Area Victim Services is providing assistance to the family at this time.
