As of Monday, September 21, Alberta Health Services has set up an assessment sight for people who are symptomatic at the Cochrane Community Health Care Centre.

The testing is for any person:

  • exhibiting any symptom of COVID-19
  • close contact with a confirmed COVID-19
  • all workers or residents at specific outbreak sites

This additional testing location will help AHS continue to meet the demand for COVID-19 testing. In the two days since opening nearly 400 tests have been done in Cochrane.

Residents need to book an appointment through the Alberta Health Services website between 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The AHS online tool continues to be the best way to book your testing appointment. The online tool provides you with an appointment for testing at assessment centres within a 75 kilometre range of your postal code. Fortunately, this means Cochrane residents will now be able to stay in town.

All individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will be contacted by AHS for follow-up and case management.

People can opt to have results texted or delivered through an automated call when they book their COVID-19 test through the AHS website.

AHS says in most cases, the average wait time for results is with in seven days from the date a swab is taken.
