Cochrane's first-ever country music festival is coming up in just 85 days and local country musician Brandon Lorenzo said he cannot wait.

Lorenzo will perform at Bow Valley Boot Stomp on Friday, July 19, before Doc Walker goes on Stage.

Aaron Goodvin will headline Saturday night's event.

"As soon as we got the call, we were super excited. I mean, this lineup is insane and to be the first music festival that you guys are actually having for country music just feels great to be a part of it." said Lorenzo.

Lorenzo performed "One of A Kind" for Eric Ruttle & Lauren Meister in the 91.5 CochraneNow studio

In 2023, Lorenzo's exceptional talent was celebrated as he clinched awards for Male Vocalist and Male Entertainer of the Year at the North American Country Music Association Awards in Nashville. This was followed by another remarkable victory as he secured the title of Male Vocalist of the Year at The Josie Music Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry. Renowned for his electrifying stage presence, Lorenzo has enraptured audiences throughout the Prairies and the US with over 200 captivating performances, delivering a mix of covers and his own original music.

The Airdrie resident said he's thrilled to be able to play for a local crowd.

"I know there's a lot of people that have already bought tickets. So they're coming out just to celebrate with everybody and just be a part of it. It just feels great always to play for the hometown crowd or you know, the local crowd. And just the support means everything."

The award-winning musician keeps himself busy, as full-time grade four teacher and a summer that is filling up quickly with shows. He said he was happy his schedule aligned with this festival.

"To be honest, at the time, this was probably the one weekend I had open in July. So to be able to book that weekend and to be able to say I'm going to be opening for Doc Walker was pretty cool. So it definitely meant a lot to me."

When it comes to what's next for Lorenzo, he said he's about to launch a new song.

"We've got some brand new music that is just kind of getting wrapped up and we're hoping to have that out by the time that we come around here to play."

Attendees can choose to camp on-site for the duration of the event.

The festivities will include various food vendors, a carefully selected marketplace, entertaining games, and additional attractions.

Organizers are expecting upwards of 3000 people.

A percentage of the ticket proceeds will be allocated to support Cochrane Search & Rescue.
