Over 27,000 Albertans were able to book a campsite last week when the Alberta Parks reservation system opened up for spring and summer camping.

Now Alberta Parks is out with a warning to those who may have other summer plans.

In a Facebook post, Alberta Parks says reservations are non-transferable.

When a camper registers at the campground, only the account holder or authorized user listed on their account is allowed to check-in. The reservation holder is responsible for all actions or damage at a campsite. They say because of that, attempted resale of campsites doesn't happen often.

You're being asked to report any ads or posts from people attempting to resell their reservations to the Alberta Parks Contact Centre at 1 (877) 537-2757.

They say this is to ensure they can keep Alberta Parks camping access fair and equitable. They will cancel the reservation of anyone trying to resell their campsites.
