The Alberta Institute of Wildlife Conservation is looking for your used Christmas trees to put into their indoor and outdoor enclosures for their animals.

Aniamls such as the fawns and porcupine will eat the buds and bark off the trees, and birds will use them for shelter and hiding food.

Erica Gould, Rehabilitation Technician, Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation says that any live tree would be gladly accepted, as they help to simulate a natural environment for the animals under their care.

"This will help animals put two and two together so when the animals are back out in wildlife, they know what to do with the tree.”

Trees will be accepted all day with a minimum of $10 donation per tree; they encourage people to come at 1:30 and 2:30 as they will be doing tours of the facility and demostrating animal tracking in and around the property. For information and location about the AIWC click here.
