The 2nd Seniors on the Bow Art show is taking place January 14.

It's a chance for local artists to showcase their work and at the same time benefit our seniors.

Shannon Bannister, Town of Cochrane, Seniors Programmer, says it important to showcase our talented elderly local artists for a good cause.

"Many of the artists are older adults and it's just good to give them the opportunity to showcase their artwork. We have some amazing talent in Cochrane."

Artists who would like to submit artwork in the show can apply online.

"We do advertise for it and artists can go on Cochrane.ca website and submit to be in the art show. It's a first come first serve thing."

If sold that day, 20% of the sale of an art piece will be donated to the Seniors on the Bow Centre.

The types of art in the show range from acrylics and oil paintings to photography as well as paintings on wood or gourds.

The event is free and runs from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Seniors on the Bow Centre.
