Town officials have confirmed that the Easter Bunny will be making his usual rounds this year, visiting each and every Cochrane home this weekend.

Mayor Jeff Genung says that with strict COVID guidelines in place, he wanted to receive personal confirmation and put Cochranites at ease.

Mayor Genung says that after several weeks of trying to connect by phone, he was finally able to chat with the Easter Bunny.

"Over the past few weeks, I'd been trying to get in touch with the Easter Bunny," says Mayor Genung. "He finally took my call. He's a busy, busy individual I have come to find out. In my discussions with him, he shared with me that Rabbits are not susceptible to coronavirus."

Mayor Genung says that the Easter Bunny was actually caught off guard by his question.

"He was a little bit surprised when I asked him the question! He said 'of course I'm on schedule, I'm on track, I'm going to be visiting Cochrane as I have every year. Let me get back to Work Jeff, this is a busy time of year for me! Tell the boys and girls in Cochrane not to worry I will be there! Then he hung up on me and got back to his chocolate making and Easter egg dying."

While in conference with the mayor the Easter Bunny stated that Cochranites still need to follow COVID-19 health and safety guidelines in place during the Easter break.

He says that the bonus of staying socially distant from others is that you won't have to share your Easter treats.
