The Cochrane Chaos Junior Female Hockey League is hitting the ice after a three week hiatus over Christmas.

They battle it out against their friends from the north, the Edmonton Wolves, on January 7 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sport Centre (SLSFSC).

Derek Loomer, Cochrane Chaos Coach, says they've had one really close game in Edmonton against the Wolves before Christmas.

"They beat us with a late goal in the third period. I think the score was 4-3. I think the girls here are out to come back and turn the tables on them in our building."

The puck drops at 7 P.M. in Totem 1.

Then, on Janaury 8, the Chaos head up against the Calgary Titans at 5 P.M. at SLSFSC in Totem 1.

Loomer says the Chaos have played the Titans a couple of times this season; they won one and lost one so they are focussed on breaking the tie in this game.

"The last game against the Titans, they really hammered us. We won our first game and they beat us on our last game. So here's the tie breaker, at least at this point of the season, to see who goes forward."

The two games play in conjunction with the Cochrane Female Minor Hockey League Tournament taking place at SLSFSC.

Loomer adds they are hoping the younger girls will be fans in the stands and look up the the Chaos girls as role models.

"Get a chance for them to watch us and hopefully there's some future Chaos players in those groups."

The Chaos team has some new players with new energy and the girls are looking forward to an even better second half of the season.
