It was a day of balance, bounds, and back flips in Cochrane.

The University of Calgary Cochrane gymnastics program flipped the hearts of many gymnasts and spectators this weekend with their 2nd Annual Gym Jam, held at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sport Center.

Seventy eight Cochrane gymnasts put their honed skills on display with routines and performances for roughly 350 family, spectators, and fellow teammates.

6-8 year old's performed choreographed routines, some for the first time in competition, followed up by the 10-17 division, who chose what elements they wanted to display. A newly developed performance team was also there, getting the room pumped with impressive displays of skills. Some of the participants of the event were ex gymnasts, including a Senior Level National team member, putting on a show for their budding prodigies.

TC Rogers, Manager, University of Calgary Cochrane gymnastics program is thrilled this event is continuing to grow and feels that it really showcase what Cochrane kids can do. It always generates more interest in the sport, which is ultimately the goal.

"Its been an amazing journey putting this event together, and see the level of excitement with the athletes and spectators and really shows the talent we have in Cochrane."
