Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has teamed up with Calgary Legal Guidance to host a free legal clinic on Saturday, May 25.

This clinic will offer residents individual legal consultations and group information sessions.

Lawyers specializing in family law, civil law, immigration law, and wills and estates will provide free legal advice.

Two legal presentations are scheduled for those seeking general information. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., residents can learn about wills and estates. Following that, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., there will be a presentation on divorce.

"Access to free legal assistance has been identified as a community need. The legal clinic, offered between Cochrane FCSS and Calgary Legal Guidance fulfills this gap. Financial constraints often hinder access to legal support. The legal clinic eliminates this barrier, ensuring all residents receive necessary assistance,” said Kim Krawec, Manager of Family and Community Support Services.

The free clinic is open to all low-income residents living in Cochrane, Western Rocky View County, and Mînî Thnî.
