The Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit, with the help of various RCMP detachments, investigated a series of break-ins at golf courses and businesses around Calgary.

They arrested three suspects after executing a search warrant in Calgary, seizing stolen property including laptops, firearms, and golf accessories.

The suspects were linked to break-ins at multiple locations, including:

  • Silver Willow Sporting Club in Mountain View County;
  • Cottonwood Golf & Country Club in Foothills County;
  • Sirocco Golf Course in Foothills County;
  • Redwood Meadows Golf Course in Tsuut’ina;
  • Priddis Greens Golf Course in Foothills County;
  • River Spirit Golf Course in Calgary;
  • Winter Green Golf Course in Rocky View County;
  • Water Valley Saloon in Water Valley;
  • Serenity Golf Club in Rocky View County;
  • Kananaskis Country Golf Course in Kananaskis; and
  • Livingstone Golf Course in Rocky View County

Kyle Nechiporenko (37) from Calgary faces charges such as attempted murder, possession of stolen property, and numerous break and enter offenses. Soleil Wenas (20), also from Calgary, faces charges related to break and enter, possession of firearms, and theft.

Both Nechiporenko and Wenas were remanded after judicial hearings and are set to appear in court in Didsbury on Feb. 12, 2024.

The third suspect, a female, was charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property and was released to appear in court in Cochrane on March 12, 2024.
