Cochrane’s Master Swim Club is looking to add some new swimmers to their ranks this February. The term “Master” actually has nothing to do with skill or swimming ability, it actually pertains to swimmers over the age of 18.

Susan Lawton, President of Cochrane’s Master Swim Club says that their coaching can be used to help you reach a whole range of goals. “We take beginner swimmers, like as long as you can swim up to about four laps. You can come and learn some stroke improvements and build your skills. We have all the way up to expert swimmers as well who go to races or maybe have a bit of background in swimming.”

“Some members also choose to race at Masters Swim meets.  There is a Masters Swim meet this weekend at Spray Lakes Rec Centre and some of our swimmers will be there.  We have a swimmer who has had a kidney transplant, and she raced last summer at the World Transplant Games! We also have a swimmer who raced last summer at the Worlds Masters Swimming Championships, as well as a previous swimmer who raced at the Invictus Games."

The new Cochrane Masters session kicks off on February 3, 2020. The club meets every Monday and Thursday evening and If you are interested in registering you can contact them here.
