A rainbow flag will be waving at the RancheHouse for the next week as Cochrane's second annual Pride Week gets underway.

Vibrant, colourful displays will take place throughout town from August 15 -21 in support of Cochrane's LGBTQ2S+ community.

Pride Week kicks off with Town of Cochrane officials raising the Progress Pride flag at the Historic Cochrane RancheHouse today, Sunday, August 15 at 4 p.m.

Here's a rundown of the week's activities:

Monday, August 16
From 2 to 6 p.m  The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area is hosting a fun afternoon of cooking, baking and chillin' with new friends at the CLUB; that's the teen space for BGC Cochrane, and from 6 to 7 p.m. you can get your 'spin on' during the Pride Ride spin class at The Study - Movement & Wellness Studio there's no charge to attend but participants need to register beforehand.

Tuesday, August 17
From 6 to 9 p.m. The Cochrane Legion is hosting a Pride Games Night for all ages. They’ve got a ton of games on hand and the bar will be serving up signature rainbow drinks. There's no need to Register

Wednesday, August 18
From 6 to 9:30 p.m.  Adults can enjoy a three-course meal and drinks during OUTright Date Night at the Stump Tavern in Fireside. Tickets are still available.

Thursday, August 19
From 7 to 9:30 p.m. A showing of  To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar will be on the big screen at the Cochrane Movie House. There's a limited number of tickets available for $10 each.

Friday, August 20
At 5 p.m. BGC Cochrane is hosting a family-friendly Drag Show. in the parking lot of the CLUB and from 9- 11:30 p.m. adults can break out their dancing shoes and glowsticks for a  Pride Patio Party at the Canadian Brewhouse. You can pre-purchase your tickets for $10 or you can pick them up at the door for $15.

Saturday, August 21 (Pride Week Wrap-Up) 
From 2 to 10 p.m. There will be fun for the whole family at the 2021 Pride Week Festival at Mitford Park featuring performances by Amy Bishop, Hayden McHugh, Smother Theresa, Karla Marx, The Marvelous Mo B and Slamda BackDoor.
