The who's who of Alberta's dart community will be rolling into town tomorrow for the annual three-day Shoot on the Bow.

It's one of about 10 ranked tournaments in the Alberta darts scene and regularly draws top players from across the province. Competing at these tournaments is important for those seeking to be among the top 16. It opens the door to advance to higher-level national and international tournaments. Some even play overseas or go on to play professionally.

Play kicks off Friday, Aug. 25 with a blind draw at the Cochrane Lions Event Centre. It gets down to the nitty-gritty on Saturday with women's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. The men's singles and women's doubles events are on Sunday.

Singles are guaranteed a minimum payout of $1,000.

Last year's event attracted about 120 players, including the highest number of mixed doubles teams yet.
