Drivers are being warned to expect delays when travelling near Dead Man's Flats today. 

Crews are continuing to battle a large wildfire in the region. 

The public is being asked to avoid the area near Dead Man's Flats on Hwy. 1. 

The eastbound off-ramp from Dead Man's Flat onto Hwy. 1 only has restricted access.

If you're hoping to travel from the ridge of Dead Man's Flats, eastbound access to Hwy. 1, expect delays or possible closures as crews investigate the fire. 

Hwy. 1 eastbound is restricted to one lane but Hwy. 1 westbound is open.

The fire led to the partial closure of the Trans-Canada Highway yesterday for several hours. 

Mounties are recommending you adjust your driving conditions and be cautious as the smoke may affect visibility.

According to Alberta Wildfire, about 10 hectares of land was classified as out of control last evening before 7 p.m.

Firefighters as well as airtankers and helicopters are all being used to fight this blaze. 

The RCMP say the fire started as a brushfire.
