The Cochrane Generals one final chance of rising in the HJHL south division standings before playoffs get underway next Tuesday.

To do so, they must win both of their games against some tough opponents. Even then, it would require the Coaldale Copperheads to lose to the High River Flyers on Saturday night.

The High River Flyers have reignited their playoff hopes after a slow start to the season. They're in a dogfight with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings for the final playoff berth.

Last week, the Gens earned three of a possible six points, losing two of their three games, one of them in overtime against the Flyers.

Tonight, the Gens are in Okotoks for one final stab against the league-leading Bisons. The majority of their matchups this season have been close but that only counts in horseshoes. The Bisons have claimed 3 of the four, including a 2-1 win on Feb. 3.

Saturday night, the Gens host the Medicine Hat Cubs in their final home game of the season. It doubles as their second annual Alumni Night to salute those who have been involved with the junior hockey club over its 40-year history.

Game time is 8:15 in Totem One.

The Gens will begin their playoff run on home ice, Tuesday night.
