It's the day after Christmas and many Cochranites may be wondering what to do with the abundance of wrapping paper, boxes and packaging in their homes.

A lot of the aftermath from opening gifts can be recycled rather then ending up in the trash.

Wrapping paper without metallic or plastic pieces can be put into your blue bins.

Gift boxes, greeting cards, metal cookie or chocolate containers along with flattened cardboard boxes can also be recycled.

Plastic bubble wrap, plastic bags as well as cellophane wrap and moulded plastic packaging can all be recycled as well.

There are some items that will need to go into the trash including ribbons and bows, wrapping paper with metallic or plastic pieces, ornaments and crinkle wrap.

There are a few neighbourhoods that will experience a change in their collection day on New Years Day.

Zone 3 which includes Heartland, Heritage Hills, West Pointe, West Terrace and West Valley will see their collection day moved from Jan 1 to Saturday, Jan 4.
