While still under investigation, the initial indication is the death of a woman in the Bragg Creek area is not suspicious.

The RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death on Dec. 6 around 3 p.m. just off of Twp. Rd. 232 and found a deceased woman in the snow. They called in the RCMP major crime unit of Calgary to investigate further.

"They released the scene back to our officers today, and it isn't being deemed as suspicious right now, and won't be," says RCMP Corporal Troy Savinkoff. "Our officers are continuing to investigate how the woman ended up there."

Savinkoff says they are speaking with witnesses to help establish a clearer understanding of the circumstances.

The person has been identified and officers continue to contact next of kin.
