A no-time yesterday has placed Tanner Milan in today's wild-card event of the steer wrestling event of the Calgary Stampede.

The Cochrane cowboy slipped to sixth place in the B Pool when things didn't go his way yesterday in the final day of the qualifying round. Now he's hoping the cards go in his favor for a chance to climb back into Sunday's big money final.

Kyle Irwin, of Alabama, managed to catch the last hole Friday, so he dominated Pool B with $17,000; followed by two Louisiana men Tyler Waguespack ($11,500); Jacob Talley ($10,000); and Montana’s Ty Erickson ($8500).

Fellow Albertan steer wrestlers Scott Guenthner, of Consort, and Curtis Cassidy, of Donalda, are also in today's wild card.

It was Milan's only no-time in four days of competition.
