Innovate Cochrane is launching a series of "Fireside Chats" on Jan. 10 with a presentation by Reid Kimmett of Two Pharmacy and Innovate Cochrane chair Nathan Klassen.

The pair will be speaking on Social Impact as a Business Strategy in this two-hour session at Found Books & Shop, 208-1st St. W. starting at 7 p.m.

"The evening will also have a number of other key insights around the business approach, and the success that Reid and the team are having at Two Pharmacy," says Klassen, "and then also some discussion around cultivating innovation, and what does that look like in each of our organizations."

Innovate Cochrane spent 2022 laying its foundation and is now ready to expand upon that work.

"That's definitely still happening heading in 2023, but with the New Year we are launching some new programming under Innovate Cochrane," he says. "Some of it will be focused toward supporting startup ventures, but some will also be focused more toward existing organizations in the community, helping them innovate and succeed as well."

He says next Tuesday's event is the first installment of a series on Cochrane Innovators, spotlighting organizations and leaders that are succeeding in utilizing innovative methods and sharing their insight with the rest of the community.

Klassen says they anticipate holding these sessions quarterly, if not more frequently, based on demand.

"Definitely, there is a number of people and organizations in our community that are innovators and are doing innovating things, so we would love to showcase that, and to do it in person like this, I think it's going to be a great event."
