After focusing on skill development last season, the Cochrane Lions minor football ball teams will be returning to play in Calgary minor leagues this season.

Registration is now open for all age groups, and a spring camp is being held from June 18 to 20.

The peewee and bantam teams will begin their season the second week of August, and the atoms return a week later.

Minor football will continue to follows AHS health and safety guidelines as well as Football Alberta's Return to Play protocol in all of its activities.

Minor football commissioner Dean Lang says the association focused on skill development last season and believes conditions have improved enough to return to league play.

"Registration is open, and we're going to have a spring camp, and play in the Calgary league this season at all levels," says Lang.

"Everybody needs something right now, and I think this would be great for the kids to look forward to getting out, playing some football, and trying to get back to somewhat normal."
