The town of Cochrane says our water reservoirs have reached critical levels.

A news release on Tuesday morning stated, "All Cochrane residents and businesses must adhere to emergency mandatory water conservation."

“These levels directly impact our ability to provide water to the community,” said Shawn Polley, Emergency Coordination Centre Director. “If water consumption continues at the current levels, we anticipate that some communities may soon be without water.”

The town is urging all Cochrane residents to cooperate.

This comes after a significant amount of water and wastewater flowed into the Bow River after lines were struck on Saturday during a construction project near Riverfront Park.
