The 9th annual Monumental Tournament of Aces was a big success, raising over $70,000.

The tournament teed off at the Links of Glen Eagles on Sunday Oct. 2, in support of the Rancheview School Fundraising Society, and Cochrane Search and Rescue.

President of the Ranchview School Fundraising Society Aaron Gertzen says the tournament brought them much closer to their goal of a new playground.

"It was fantastic, the weather was gorgeous, we had another sell out, everybody had a great time, and we raised a lot of money for a lot of good people," he says. "Total was about $75,000 of that the Rancheview Fundraising Society is getting $35,000."

Gertzen shares the fundraising society is grateful for the 200 golfers who showed up, as well as all the volunteers.

"We can't thank everybody enough just for being involved, the community support in Cochrane is huge and I think this is a great demonstration of that."

The Rancheview School Fundraising Society is looking to raise $150,000 for a new playground, the entire project is estimated to cost $300,000.
