Scenes shot in the Cochrane area are included in the 10-part series My Life with the Walter Boys that premiered on Netflix Canada yesterday.

Should you view the series, you'll see some familiar places from scenes shot in Cochrane's Historic Downtown and Glenbow neighborhood. The acclaimed CL Ranch, southwest of Cochrane, was the Walter family’s Colorado home. Shooting also took place in Kananaskis Country, Bragg Creek, Crossfield, and Airdrie.

On Dec. 6, Netflix hosted a special screening at Eau Claire Cinemas in Calgary. Cast members Nikki Rodriguez (Jackie Howard), Ashby Gentry (Alex Walter) Noah LaLonde (Cole Walter) and Marc Blucas (George) were in attendance, joined by executive producer Ed Glauser and producer Chad Oakes.

It's based upon a novel of the same name by Ali Novak, and tells the story of a 15-year-old Jackie Howard who, after the loss of her family in a tragic accident, was forced to leave her privileged Manhattan life and learn to adapt to a new life in rural Colorado with her guardian and a large rowdy family.

The actors spoke fondly of their time in the area while shooting the film, particularly their time at the CL Ranch and settings in the Eastern Slopes.

"Serenity is an understatement," said actor LaLonde in an interview with Brit + Co. "I just want to go back there, it's incredible!"

"It's just so pretty. Even the ranch, it's just so expansive, the trees, the mountains, it looks great in the show, and you might think, oh, they made it look better. It might be better in person."

LaLonde believes releasing the series at a time when families and friends are preparing to come together is ideal.

"The reason we are able to survive is because of the people around us. Any reminder that the people around you can lift you in a time when you're feeling less than, it's worth it to me. I think our show can provide that, and I hope people can find some peace and comfort in it."
