It may have just been one day, but the Cochrane Fair on Aug. 21 certainly drew the crowds and delight thousands.

"It was fantastic," says Leslie Hunt, who has chaired the fair for the last five years. "I don't remember ever as being as busy as we were. It was like three days mushed into one and that's the number of people I think that were there. We hit the ground running, and didn't stop until I don't even know what time the dance ended."

All of the activities and events were well received, from the mutton busting, to line dance performances to packed stands for the return performance of the SuperDogs. A well-laid-out schedule gave families a chance to take in as many events as they wanted.

In the evening, a packed house enjoyed the 20th edition of the Cochrane Classic Bullriding and the barn dance, featuring country artist Chris LaBlanc and his band closed out the day.

"Everybody looked like they were having a blast, and it was certainly well received. Thanks again to all our sponsors for supporting the Cochrane Fair this year. We're already looking forward to next year."

The fair committee is hoping to return to a three-day event next year, if possible.

Hunt also thanks the many who came to enjoy and support the fair.
