The Cochrane Roads Department is implementing an extreme weather response plan as Mother Nature continues to dump more snow on our area.

While road crews keep priority routes open and safe for emergency vehicles and the motoring public, residential areas are often not plowed to the same degree.

With the significant accumulation of snow, the department will begin removing snow build-up this Monday, (March 5) from cul-de-sac bulbs only before plowing down the middle of all residential streets to flatten ruts, as the snow pack softens.

The residential snow plowing plan will take roughly two weeks to complete and a community parking ban will be in effect when crews are in the area. Residents living in cul-de-sac bulbs are asked to remove their vehicle from the street so crews can do their job effectively.

As a reminder, please do not shovel snow on to the roadways, including snow left behind by the plows (windrows).

Dates, when crews will be working in your community, are listed below.
