A three on three hockey tournament was dreamt up by seven year old Cochranite Seamus Dillon.

Seamus, along with his mom and dad, Jenna and Tyler Dillon, are hoping to raise awarenss and funds for something they all feel passionate about. The Dillons, nine month old daughter, Georgia, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibroses at two weeks old, and that’s when life changed.

The Dillons are a huge hockey family and when the topic of a fundraiser came up, it was an easy choice to decide to have a hockey tournament.

The family is very determined to organize a fun hockey event with lots of ice time for the kids, great raffle draws, and the hockey community rallying around a special little girl.

Dillon says caring for a child with CF isn't without challenges; daily physical therapy, constant monitoring, medications, and the worry.  But Georgia is a happy baby who touches the hearts of everyone she meets. Dillon and her family are very hopeful about the clinical trials happening right now, but do know that money is needed in order for the research to continue.

"The goal right now is to keep Georgia healthy until a cure is found. They are getting very close in the clinical trials that are being conducted right now, but like everything else, money is needed to keep those going."

The tournament takes place December 28-30 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre. All are invited to drop by, watch some fun hockey, bid on a raffle item, or leave a cash donation.  For more information about the CF Strong 3 on 3 Hockey tournament, click here.
