The Cochrane High Cobras and George McDougall Mustangs have a rematch for the Rocky View championship this Friday at the SLS Legacy Sports Field.

In the first round of playoffs last Friday, the Mustangs got redemption against the W. H. Croxford Cavalier with a 35-7 win to get another shot at the Cobras. Meanwhile, the Cobras coasted to a 49-6 win over the Chestermere Lakers.

It was the end of the season for the Bow Valley Bobcats after the Springbank Phoenix staged a second-half comeback to win 18-13. The Phoenix now face the Cavaliers in the consolation round.

The W. H. Croxford Cavaliers beat the Mustangs, 22-17, in their first regular-season game. Since then, the Mustangs have only lost one other game to the Cobras, 35-21.

They've gradually moved up to third in the Tier II rankings of Football Alberta behind number one Holy Trinity Academy Knights and Grande Prairie's St. Joseph's Celtics. The Cavaliers have dropped to eighth from a high of second.

Last season, the Mustangs handed the Cobras their first regular season loss since the late 90s. In the Rocky View championship game, the score was tied 21-21 at the end of regulation before the Cobras scored a touchdown, then held off the Mustangs to win 28-21.

Game time is 4 p.m.
