Lynda Alderman and fellow parishioners are on a quest to find a bell for the empty bell tower at the All Saints Anglican Church. When the Anglican Church bought the Catholic Church at the bottom of the big hill in Cochrane, the seller rightfully took their bell with them.

The empty bell tower has been bothering Lynda for a while and she has taken it upon herself to find a replacement. As Alderman says,"Finding a bell for a bell tower is not an easy thing. You can go on Amazon and Kijiji and you can find all sorts of bronze bells. We need a very small bell, it cannot weigh any more than 145 pounds, and the diameter of the base can't be any more than 18 inches. And it also needs what they call a saddle and harness. Those are the 2 pieces that you hang with the bell in order for the bell to ring."

Lynda hopes that the bell will have a history behind it, that in turn, can become the All Saints Anglican Church's history too. "We don't just want any old bell, we would like a bell that needs a home, because we have a home for a bell."

Although the church bell remains elusive, Lynda is confident that it will be found. "It's sitting out there it's waiting for us. We just have to find which, field, shed, barn, basement or museum it is sitting in right now."
