Cochrane RCMP has laid charges against a 25-year-old Morley man in connection with numerous vehicle thefts in Cochrane, Calgary and surrounding area.

On February 21, a short foot chase led RCMP to Tylane Hunter who was prowling on Fisher Avenue. RCMP share that subsequent to his arrest, they were able to connect Hunter to numerous vehicle thefts thanks to the working partnership between Cochrane RCMP and the Cochrane Crime Reduction. "Further investigation has led to charges in more than 6 stolen vehicle reports in the past month. An investigation into this offender suggests at the time of his arrest he was actively stealing 2 or 3 motor vehicles per day."

RCMP share in almost all cases, Hunter would seek out vehicles that were left unattended, running with keys in the ignition. Which is why they continue to remind residents to lock up and stay with their vehicles while warming up.

The Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit will continue to actively monitor Hunter in hopes to prevent future thefts.

Hunter will appear in front of the Cochrane Court next Tuesday (March 13).

A summary of Hunter’s charges are below:
