The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League (RMLL) season is over for the Rocky View Silvertips.

The 'Tips dropped their final round-robin game of the Larry Bishop Memorial Cup, the RMLL Junior B Tier One Championship tournament in Red Deer and won't play in today's gold medal final after finishing 1 and 3 for the weekend.

The Silvertips faced off against the Fort Saskatchewan Rebels last night and lost by a 16 - 10 score.

Rocky View's leading scorer on the year had another big night.  Nolan Oakey scored 3 goals and added 4 assists.  Matthew Dyck also potted a hattrick and chipped in an assist while Colby Gulutzan also had a four-point game with a goal and 3 assists.

The Calgary Shamrocks will be one of the teams in today's gold medal contest after they finished first in round-robin play with a 3 and 1 mark.  The Rebels, the Red Deer Rampage and Manitoba Blizzard all finished with identical 2 and 2 records but the tie-breaking formula gives the Rebels second place and the other spot in the game to determine the league championship.

Despite the loss, it's been a landmark season for the team. The Silvertips continued to build upon success that began late in the 2018 season and posted the best record in their history this year. The future looks bright for their young roster.
