From providing inclusive sports to arranging transportation, Sport4Life Cochrane has knocked down barriers to participating in its free try-it day on Sunday, June 11.

Already, there's been a strong response to the annual free day of recreation for youth ages 6 to 17, but there's still room for plenty more participants. There's a diverse range of activities available, from scuba diving to dancing to wheelchair sports.

"Everything is free and the sessions run from 9 a.m. to. 4 p.m.," explains Ashley Fox, of Sport4Life. "Out of those 1,400 spots available, we already have over 800 of them filled and so we're excited about the energy."

But she says they still have some awesome sessions open and are particularly encouraging people new to Cochrane or Canada to join the fun as well as those who have physical mobility or sensory issues.

There are also quite a few sessions open for team sports.

Those struggling with transportation need not worry. BGC Cochrane has stepped up to provide transportation to knock down that barrier.

They'll also be several organizations with booths at the SLS Centre during the event to share more information on their organizations.

The Sport4Life day is made possible by a partnership and numerous Cochrane organizations.
