In accordance with the added restrictions announced by the Kenny government to 'Stop the Spike' of active COVID-19 cases, The Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) is once again preparing to temporarily close its doors.

In a letter from CEO Blair Felesky, he states that the "Third Time’s (not) A Charm!"

Effective end of day Sunday, May 9, the sports centre will temporarily shut down all indoor and outdoor activities until further notice.

Felesky says that while Spray Lakes isn't able to carry out activities at this time, some businesses that operate within the facility are able to remain open. He encourages Cochranites to continue supporting those businesses.

"Many of our tenants can/will maintain operations," says Felesky. "We strongly encourage your support of local business’ within SLSFSC including Cochrane Physiotherapy, Patsy’s Place (take out only), Jugo Juice (take out only), Kumon Child Learning, Inspiring Minds and Christopher Robins Childcare (Cochrane Arena)."

Felesky says that memberships will be paused beginning on May 10, stopping future payments until the sports centre can reopen and members are ready to return.

He adds that members won't lose money for the remainder of this month. "In lieu of a partial refund for May membership fees paid, we will offer you a free calendar month upon your return," says Felesky. He says that those payments will start on the next applicable month.

Felesky says that SLS Staff will continue to consider and support the things they can still do for the Cochrane community, including providing parking lot space for drive-in faith services and anticipating the opening of the outdoor BRECS Spray Park sometime in the future.
