Didsbury RCMP were called out to a rural residence on March 31 at approximately 7 p.m. to the report of a sudden death.

A man and a woman were both found deceased on the property.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Services were both called in to assist with the investigation.

The Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on April 1 and the preliminary findings indicate the 64-year old man died by suicide. The cause of death of the 65-year old woman has not been determined.

RCMP say there are no suspects being sought by police and there is no risk to the public.

The man and the woman both resided together on the property.

Mounties say they will not be laying any charges and no further details surrounding the deceased persons' identities or circumstances will be released.
