Annually, the Big Hill Lodge holds an Easter Tea for the enjoyment of residents, volunteers, and staff.

By far, the biggest highlight is an Easter Bonnet Parade, where residents and some volunteers display the latest in Easter hat fashions.

"It's a special time, and that Easter Bonnet Parade is the hit of the whole afternoon," says Big Hill Lodge manager Sandra Robin. "They make their own Easter bonnet, they designed it themselves, and the hats go on the table, and flowers go on the table, and off they go."

Activities coordinator Kim Maclure emceed the event and provide a colourful description of each creation while the models tour the room.

Coming soon is the return of their Stampede Barbecue, which has been paused for several years due to the pandemic.

"That will be the first event where we are having families and friends back in for a big party," says Robin, "We're so excited about that. We've missed it for the last few years, so it's really important to have the party so we can reconnect with our larger family."
