If you have been to a concert (remember those?) at the Saddledome or just driven in downtown Calgary, you have most likely seen people zipping around on e-scooters. These pay-per-use vehicles have become very popular in bigger centres and cities over the past three years, but what if they came to smaller markets?

Jonathan Hopkins, Director of Strategic Development for Lime Scooters says it would not be hard to get a program in Cochrane. “If your officials are willing to collaborate to bring it there. Officials in Cochrane or like the chamber. It's a free program.”

“At the very minimum, have a contract with us and have rules that the province will accept for how the program will operate. Basically, where do scooters park and where can they be ridden.”

“It’s actually pretty easy! The bylaws related to scooters are pretty straightforward and there's a lot of options.”

Would you use the scooters if they came to town? I think cruising along our pathways would be pretty cool!
